The EXQUISHEAT project was presented at the 18th International Conference on Sustainable Energy & Environmental Protection (SEEP), contributing to discussions on the role of industrial heat pumps in accelerating the decarbonisation of European industry.
Held in Rome, the conference brought together researchers, industry representatives and policymakers to exchange knowledge on the latest developments in sustainable energy technologies and environmental protection.
As part of a dedicated session on industrial heat pumps, the EXQUISHEAT project showcased its approach to supporting the uptake of this technology within the food and beverage sector. The presentation highlighted the project’s objective of making industrial heat pump deployment more accessible through the development of standardised solutions, practical implementation guidance and closer collaboration between technology providers and industrial end users.
The session also provided an opportunity to discuss the growing importance of industrial heat pumps in delivering low-carbon process heat, improving energy efficiency and recovering waste heat from industrial processes. As industries across Europe look for ways to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels while maintaining competitiveness, industrial heat pumps are increasingly recognised as a mature and effective solution.
Participation in SEEP also enabled EXQUISHEAT to engage with the wider research community and exchange perspectives on the technical, economic and market challenges that still need to be addressed to accelerate deployment at scale.
By contributing to international scientific conferences such as SEEP, EXQUISHEAT continues to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by industrial heat pumps while fostering dialogue between research, industry and policymakers. These exchanges are essential to ensuring that the solutions developed within the project respond to real industrial needs and support Europe’s transition towards a more sustainable and competitive manufacturing sector.
As the project progresses, EXQUISHEAT will continue sharing its findings through conferences, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities, helping to bridge the gap between innovation and industrial deployment.
